Therefore, 60009 was called in to replace it. Here are some photos from the trip, the videos will appear in due time on my video site; the link is at the top of this page. Two Class 185s haul their long train up the steep grade at Göschenen which is nearly as steep as the Lickey Incline and lasts for 18 miles. That is why at least 2 engines are needed on this section of the Gotthard Pass line. After being released only 3 days before out of the works. An ex-works SBB 11115 stands at Zürich HB. An SBB Re 10/10 formation wait for a path over the Gotthard at Erstfeld. DB 185148 and another unidentified 185 also wait for a path onto the Gotthard. Orange SBB 11109 sits at Erstfeld with an InterRegional service for Locarno. An SBB Re 10/10 formation approaches a red light at Erstfeld. An SBB Cargo shunter hauls material from the site of the Gotthard Base tunnel just south of Erstfeld. SBB 11464 sits at a red light with a trip working at Erstfeld. After a swift change of engines, 11426 is now in charge of the trip working. Crossrail 185567 stands at Erstfeld. SBB 11438 sits at Erstfeld with the daily mail working over the Gotthard. While I was there I travelled on the sleeper from Rannoch to Fort William and then the B1 from Fort William to Mallaig and back. 37s are due to be replaced by 67s on 11th June 2005 on the Caledonian Sleeper. UPDATE: 37s are still going strong on the sleepers so ride on them while you can! 2nd UPDATE: The 37s gave way to 67 power on 10th June 2006 with the last booked 37 hauled sleeper running on 9th June.
